Let the games begin! The 2012 Summer Olympic Games were officially kicked off in London, England on July 27th with over 200 participating nations to millions of viewers worldwide. The Olympic Games is by far one of the most recognizable international sporting event, which features summer and winter sports, in which thousands of athletes participate in a variety of competitions. The very first Olympic Games were held in Olympia, Greece, from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. The International Olympic Committee, which was founded in 1894, has since become the governing body of the Olympic Movement. Throughout the ages we have seen the Olympic logo develop and change. The logo was influenced by events and changes in the world, which became incorporated into the designs.
