Getting Down to Business on Business Cards

As a small business in a sea of corporate mega-companies it’s imperative to make a great and lasting first impression to potential clientele. Well one of the best and easiest ways to do that is by having professional business cards designed by your graphic designer. Business cards have become much more than just a card with your companies contact information but instead a symbol that represents your entire business. Many companies who decide to save a buck or two by having cheap or free cards designed are often left with low quality, flimsy cards, which typically promote themselves rather than your own business. By working with a professional graphic artist you are guaranteed to receive high-end professional business cards with significant results.

Top Reasons to use the iCloud

In the past 10 years we have seen a multitude of high-tech products released by Apple that have changed the way we live our lives. First we had the iMac computer where we could download music, share files, and export movies, but it didn’t end there. We soon stocked up our offices with iPods, iPhones, iTouches, and iPads to simplify travel, organization, and communication. But with all these devices to make our lives easier we ended up consuming our time syncing all our files to each device. Well, thankfully Apple has found the solution to this problem and it’s called the iCloud.

The iCloud, which is set to premiere this fall, will enable you with the ability to automatically download any new music, movies, photos, and applications to all your Apple devices all over Wi-Fi and 3G capabilities. Ultimately, this means you can buy a song from iTunes on your iPad at home, and find it waiting for you on your iPhone during your morning commute to work. And the best part is you will never have to connect one product to the other to sync and share files. It just works! Here are the best reasons the iCloud is the solution for you.

1. Did I mention its Free!

The best part about the new iCloud is that it is free to use so anyone can use it without having to pay a penny. However, if you want to sync music between devices that you didn’t buy from iTunes it’s going to cost you about $25 per year. And Apple plans to end MobileMe, the clouds’ predecessor, on June 30, 2012. Which is all pretty great, unless you’re a subscriber who handed over a […]

CMYK VS RGB: Graphic Design Tips

If someone were to ask you the difference between RGB and CMYK, would you know the answer? Well for most people it’s a “no”, but a professional graphic designer should know what they are, how they work, what their purposes are and more importantly, which one they should use for a particular graphic design project. The first thing that every logo designer should know about RGB and CMYK is that these are essentially the color standards used in creating logos, posters and any graphic display of images. Each has its own strengths and limitations which should be kept in mind when working on a design project.

CMYK Color is used for Print Media. In direct contrast to RGB, the CMYK colors are known as subtractive colors and represent Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black respectively. Notice that the CMYK abbreviation uses the letter ‘K’ to denote Black instead of the letter ‘B’. This is done to prevent people from confusing it with the color “Blue”, which also uses the letter ‘B’. CMYK is the standard in the print world. Companies interested in printing their logo on different materials such as T-shirts, coffee mugs, caps and business cards, prefer their designs in CMYK. They are perfect for stationary, garments and other forms of marketing collateral.

RGB Color refers to the three primary colors; Red, Green and Blue. RGB colors are also referred to as additive colors. Logo designers use them in mixed variations to create a variety of different shades for their design drafts. These colors are bold, eye-catching and stand out more. Therefore, they are very popular in the graphic design community. RGB colors stand out in displaying images on computer monitors, TV’s […]
